Chip and Joanna Gaines Celebrate Network Launch at Polo Bar
Home improvement thrills Chip and Joanna Gaines celebrated the launch of their new Magnolia Network with Discovery + at the Polo Bar in Manhattan last week.
And they were also spotted hitting some of their favorite downtown design stores while in town, we hear.
At the chic Polo Bar party, Discovery CEO David Zaslav, along with the network’s Allison Page, celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern, folk-pop duo Johnnyswim Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano, and the maker of “Fixer Upper »Clint Harp.
A source told us: “Chip and Joanna had to wait hours to get a table at the Polo Bar after they first appeared years ago, and now they were part of a private event there to kick off the network. “
We heard that guests enjoyed the hotspot’s iconic sliders and a raw bar, as well as a summer punch cocktail with fresh watermelon and tequila.
Spies said Zaslav toasted the couple for their new business at Ralph Lauren Restaurant and that “Chip and Joanna emotionally thanked Zaslav, Page and the entire Magnolia team for helping to build the network.” Also at the party was a flower wall with the Magnola logo for guests to take photos.
Meanwhile, style guru Joanna was seen shopping at Roman and Williams’ RW Guild store in Soho, “which is one of her all-time favorite stores,” one told us. initiated. “She was there for almost an hour.”
She was also seen downtown, we hear, in one of the John Derian stores.
