Explore the Library: The Door County Library Community Resources page is a unique resource
by Beth Lokken, Youth Services Librarian, Door County Library
Do you think the library only manages books? Think again ! The Door County Library is also the gateway to a wide range of community resources. At all stages of life, there are people and organizations in Door County who are ready to help, and libraries – and their librarians – are here to help you find them.
Door County Library is a member of the Door County Partnership for Children and Families: a group of local organizations that work together to support families in the area. The library’s greatest contribution to the group is to serve as the home community resource page, which links to the websites of groups offering a wide range of services, many of which are available without leaving the county. It can be difficult to know where to turn for help when you need it, so start with the community resources page at doorcountylibrary.org/community_resources.
Do you have an emergency? If you don’t need 911, you can find the help you need on the Emergency / Crisis page. Are you looking for lifelong educational resources? The Education and Child Care page has links to options from birth to retirement. Need to know what types of healthcare are available nearby? Visit the Health page for resources on mental health, dental care, and physical health and wellness. Want to join a church or civic organization? We list them too!
The Door County Library is here to help you find anything you need, whether it’s a favorite book or a helpful resource here in the county.
