Murda Mook had to withdraw from the event after his two initial opponents failed to agree on conditions, leaving him without enough time to prepare.

URL has announced that Murda Mook will no longer be fighting at the upcoming SMACK / URL X OVO event, “Til Death Do Us Part”.

Drake hand-picked the card he revealed when dropping a trailer on Instagram over the weekend.

The lineup is packed with “dream matches” and the pairing of Battle Rap Mount Rushmore contestant Murda Mook with Philly’s Eazy the Block Captain was one of the most anticipated.

The Ultimate Rap League released a statement explaining, “Despite the URL’s exhaustive efforts, Drake and Mook to bring the divine-level emcee back on stage in 2021, the stars have not aligned.”

The statement continued by noting that the Harlem legend Mook “did everything in his power to seize the opportunity for his fans, but during the negotiation of the battle several incidents occurred to ensure him a viable adversary “.

They revealed that Mook’s original opponent “went back on verbal agreement” and that although “rising star” Eazy “rose to the challenge, not all parties in good conscience could move forward. “.

URL assured fans of their commitment to “giving culture the best”. All fighters must have the opportunity to be at their best to play on such a “high caliber” card.

The statement ended by affirming the URL’s commitment to “preserving the integrity of sport”.

The founding member of Dot Mob took to his IG to put a different spin on the situation, revealing his heart to fans on why he wouldn’t be on the map.

I understand that fans aren’t programmed to care about the pain and hard work behind the scenes. Day after day. The desperate efforts to perfect our craft to create BRAND NEW material for all of you. Material of which we have no way of knowing for sure if it will transmit well or not. I understand that “perfection” can be a lot of gold at the end of a rainbow but nonetheless I ALWAYS strive and push myself beyond my previous constraints for, if nothing else, an evolution. constant of THIS CULTURE! . … I have already written TWO whole meticulously designed tricks for someone who accepted this battle some time BEFORE ME AND REED! Smh! I’m not sure what caused the sudden change of mind and I don’t care what it is! I literally found out 3 days ago that it had happened! I tried to “put off” for my fans by accepting a battle with @ eazyblockcapt1 because I didn’t want to disappoint (Fans and Hecklers lol). The same day you all saw the trailer was the same day I learned that my previous opponent had retired. As much my instinct as a warrior is the reason for my success. It can also be an obstacle. So with a day of reflection, I came to the conclusion that 2.5 weeks to recalibrate was just too short. with all that said, I HOPE THAT WHAT I DO FOR THIS CULTURE WILL ONE DAY BE BY THOSE WHO REALLY KNOW !!!!!!!! until then ……… YOU KNOW ME GOOD ????? ?? #FUCKTYPOS #OF THE HEART #THE MEAN ONE

Following the revelation that Mook would not be fighting Eazy, a slew of big names stepped forward as a potential replacement, despite the short notice. With only two and a half weeks to go, it may be too late to find an opponent for Eazy. However, one of those up for the challenge is Queens rapper DNA.

Eazy The Block Captain took to Instagram Live with DNA after the call and agreed to the match-up. However, the decision is up to Drake and SMACK / URL, so fans will have to wait and see if that happens.

Brizz Rawsteen, who was originally scheduled to fight Mook, has not released an official statement. He did respond to URL on Twitter, however.

“Now it’s 100K! .. #Dark side

He also retweeted a fan’s response to the cancellation, apparently motivated by the fact that (legend or not) a lot of people don’t care about seeing Mook again fight.

Haven’t seen a single person disappointed that Mook didn’t fight

In a recent video on the cancellation, blogger Vada Fly said that he spoke to the NC / Delaware rapper about the statement and revealed that he was not happy because he felt the league “threw him under the bus.”

Thankfully, while Mook may not appear on the map, the event is packed with electrifying clashes and is dubbed “the greatest combat rap map of all time.”
