The World Optometric Council has partnered with CooperVision to launch an online resource for the management of myopia.

“This online resource enables eye care practitioners around the world to access the information they need to implement a standard of care to treat or manage the progression of a patient’s myopia,” President of the World Optometry Council (WCO) Paul Folkesson, said in a statement.

The resource site is organized around the three pillars of the MDG: mitigation, measurement and management. Each pillar is designed to condense the studies into one-page “Myopia Moments” that can be read in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish, according to the release.

The collaboration aims to raise awareness of the progression of myopia and encourage a standard of care for the disease.

“Thanks to the support of CooperVision, information regarding the treatment of myopia is more accessible than ever,” said Folkesson. “This is just the start as we work to provide more educational materials and programs through this collaborative partnership. “
